Annual Report of the Chair of Audit and Governance Committee

Summary

1. To provide a draft version of the Chair’s annual report, for members’ consideration prior to its reporting to Council in September 2026.

Background

2. Members will be recall that, at its meeting of 14 May 2025, the committee considered the draft annual report of the Chair of Audit and Governance Committee, prior to its submission to Council in July 2025.

3. For the 2025-2026 annual report, it was originally intended that the draft would be presented to the Audit and Governance Committee meeting on 1 July 2026, to be subsequently presented to the Council meeting on 16 July 2026.  However, in light of the revised date for the July Audit and Governance Committee meeting, the annual report will now be presented to Council at its meeting on 17 September 2026.

Recommendations

4. It is recommended that Members:

a. consider the contents of the draft annual report;

b. propose any changes they consider appropriate; and

c. delegate authority to the Chair and Vice-Chair of the Committee to finalise the report for submission to the meeting of full Council on 17 September 2026.

5. To finalise the annual report for Council.
